On August 2-3rd we will be back in the saddle riding in the two day ride from Wellesley to Provincetown with an expanded team surrounded by thousands of committed PMC riders.
Out team captain, Jo Hannafin, is living proof of the perseverance and tenacity it takes to fight multiple myeloma and remains in remission twelve and a half years after a successful stem cell transplant at Dana Farber! Two other teammates are living proof riders who have recovered successfully from cancer treatment. We all ride in memory of or to honor the people we care about who have been adversely affected by cancer.
We have chosen that all of the money donated will go directly to the multiple myeloma clinical research group at the Dana-Farber Cancer institute. The science will drive our futures!
The mission of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is to provide expert, compassionate care to children and adults with cancer while advancing the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, cure, and prevention of cancer and related diseases. The Jerome Lipper Multiple Myeloma Center and LeBow Institute for Myeloma Therapeutics at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute provide comprehensive care to patients with multiple myeloma. These two centers encompass a large, international team of laboratory-based and clinical investigators who are striving to find more effective therapies for multiple myeloma and, hopefully someday, a cure.
We are writing today to ask for your financial support in our fundraising effort, and for your moral support in our training and riding. Over the past twelve years Team Grateful Living has raised $1,055,495.47 with your support. We were thrilled to surpass the $1 Million mark last year as the PMC surpassed the incredible goal of $! Billion raised since inception of the ride..
Please join us in making a difference in the fight against cancer. As a donor to a rider or team for the Pan Mass Challenge 100% of your donation will go directly to fund the doctors and scientists working to find novel treatments for multiple myeloma. We hope that within our lifetimes, mutiple myeloma will be considered a curable disease.
Thank you for your support! Jo, Polly, Mary, Chris, Cheryl, Patty, Sarah, Ben, Robert, Bobby,, Katherine, and Jodi.
