Team AJ was formed this year to support AJ Congdon, the young son of my dear colleague and friend, Jamie Congdon, who sadly lost his brief battle to cancer in June.
The Congdons, JJ, Jamie, Bella, and pup Lincoln, are an incredible, loving, and joyful family. Always on the move, the Congdons are rarely without a planned vacation or activity. They enjoy fun at the beach, skiing in the mountains, cruising in the pontoon boat, and fishing on the lake with many friends and family.
On September 29th, 2023, the family was shocked and saddened to learn that AJ, at 8 years old, was diagnosed with an inoperable cancerous brain tumor(DIPG).
The PMC has raised over $972 million since beginning in 1980 and is over 55% of the annual revenue of the Jimmy Fund. 100% of the PMC rider donations goes to Dana-Farber.
PMC is the #1 Cause-Related Cycling Organization in USA and it is the #4 Peer-to-Peer Fundraiser in USA.
Dana-Farber was founded in 1947 and has continued 70+ years of research discovery and innovation that has revolutionized cancer diagnosis and treatment, for the benefit of all patients, adult and pediatric. They focus exclusively on cancer and related diseases.
By riding, I also honor my recently diagnosed Auntie Bev; my late Nana; my late grandmother, Grammy Alice, and her six sisters; my surviving Auntie Livie and Auntie Phyllie; my surviving cousin, Jen; my late great aunt Bernie; and all of those who have fought their battle with cancer.
Thank you.
Research takes money. I appreciate any donation made to support cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
My goal this year is to raise $6,000.
