In September 2012, I lost my mother, Elizabeth Alling Sewall, to her 18-month fight with lobular breast cancer. Following her death, my family and I established the Elizabeth Alling Sewall Endowment Fund at Dana-Farber Hospital, raising money towards research on this rare and aggressive form of breast cancer. I ride this year, my fourth, in honor of my mother's legacy and in hopes of preventing families in the future from facing the same early loss that my family endured. Mom's character was defined not only by her selfless attitude and kind heart, but fierce determination to tackle each and every challenge with every ounce of energy that she could possibly muster, and I hope to bring that very same gusto to my ride this August. I am riding as a member of Team Elizabeth (http://profile.pmc.org/TE0056) along with my dad, Gordon, and several of my mom's dearest friends. New to the team this year are 16 of my closest friends from Trinity College and Camp Dudley.
If you’d like to donate by check, please write it to Pan Mass Challenge with the Elizabeth Alling Sewall endowment on the memo line. You can send your check to me at: 6 Cleveland Pl, Apt. 2 Boston, MA 02113. I will ensure that all of your generous support goes to directly to her fund. If you prefer to donate online by credit card, you can do so through the link on this page or through the team page that is linked above.
Please know that all gifts, no matter the size, are important and deeply appreciated. I am asking those who have the financial capacity to consider matching the $2,500 donation that my dad, my brother, and I are making again this year. Last year, we were enormously fortunate to have eight gifts at this Angel Donor level. In 2014, I was able to achieve Heavy Hitter status by fundraising in the top 10% of all riders, an incredibly humbling achievement. Thank you to all of those who were able to support my first ride.
Thank you for all you have done to make this memorial to Mom an eye-catching success story that offers significant promise in the effort to treat and cure breast cancer. The Alling and Sewall families are profoundly grateful for your support.
