Family and friends- For my second PMC I have decided to raise my milage from 163 to 192 miles biking from Sturbridge to Provincetown to raise money for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Cancer affects families around the world and mine is no different. I will be riding to honor my uncles, Edward Roach and Richard 'Dick' Prata. Uncle Ed, or Capi as he's known to our family, successfully beat cancer with the help of Dana Farber. My family is forever grateful for all the doctors and nurses who have helped him beat his disease, allowing him to see his children and grandchildren grow for years to come. It's now unfortunately my Uncle Dicks turn to battle cancer with the help of Dana Farber. Anyone whose ever met my uncles is sure to remember their kindness, generosity and have left meeting them with a smile. I will also be riding in honor of family friend Gerry Parlon whose also currently battling cancer with the help of Dana Farber.
Additionally, I will be riding in memory of close family friends Mary O'leary, Jim Kelley and William Sena, who have unfortunately lost their battles with cancer.
Every dollar raised by riders goes directly towards helping find a cure for a disease that unfortunatly unites and touches us all. This ride isn't easy, but it's nothing compared to the fight that each cancer patient endures. The cure is out there and each donation brings us one step closer to finding it!
