Why I Ride ...
I ride in honor of my mother who continues to stand tall in her treatment journey for ovarian cancer. She is living her life fully as she perseveres through ongoing therapies. This is my second year riding to support the Elizabeth Alling Sewall Endowment, which was started by her family in 2012. Gordon Sewall and his sons, Scott and Duncan, along with Elizabeth's mom, Cynthia, continue their determined efforts to grow this fund into an important resource for the work of Dr. Eric Winer, head of Breast Oncology at Dana-Farber, and his team of researchers. I am honored to ride on behalf of Team Elizabeth, a group that has grown from six to fourteen members this year. The next generation is stepping up!
There are two important ways you can help with this effort. The first is to donate to our Team ride. Whether you choose a specific Team member to support or you choose to donate to the Team collectively, all funds raised will go to Elizabeth's endowed fund and will support breast cancer research at Dana-Farber. If donating by check is convenient, please write it to Pan Mass Challenge with the Elizabeth Alling Sewall endowment on the memo line. You can send your check to me: 12 Pilgrim By Way, Duxbury, MA 02332. I will ensure that all of your generous support goes directly to Elizabeth's endowment. If you prefer to donate online by credit card, you can do so by following the link to the team page at http://www2.pmc.org/profile/TE0056. You can select a specific rider from our Team list and donate directly to my page on the Pan Mass website.
Last year’s ride was a terrific success although I now understand firsthand why the word “challenge” aptly describes the ride. Thank you in advance for your support and wish me luck on my second ride on behalf of the Pan Mass Challenge. Go Mary Conway, go Team Elizabeth!
Sincerely,
Sonya Conway
