#PMC2022 - 31 years on my bike. On Saturday, August 6th, I will be climbing back on my bike for my 31st Pan-Mass Challenge bike ride to once again raise money for a very important cause – cancer treatment and research. This year I will be riding alongside my 30-year riding partner, Ken Surdan, his daughter, Michelle, and my brother Jim who is also closing in on his 30th PMC ride. Brother Jim is now a two-time cancer survivor and both my hero and my inspiration. Also in our riding group once again this year is our good friend and Cotuit neighbor, Chip Greer, who will be riding in his 16th PMC.
We are committed to riding 162 miles over the 2-day weekend and raising a minimum of $6000 per rider. After 2 years of Covid-impacted PMC rides, we are looking forward to a more normal ride.
The PMC has raised over $830M for cancer research and treatment over the last 42 years. The fundraising goal for this year is $66M. When I started riding the PMC over 3 decades ago after losing my mom to cancer I was dreaming of a world without cancer. While incredible strides have been made over the last 30 years, there is so much more to do.
I will turn 60 next year and with age comes an increase in the number of family & friends we lose to cancer. We recently lost our amazing cousin, Matt O’Brien, who we all loved dearly to cancer.
I am so incredibly grateful for the generosity and support that so many of you have given Team Morris (#TeamMorris) over these many years. Through your generosity our small, but mighty team has contributed over $800K to the cause – so Thank You!!
I am asking for your support and generosity once again for my 31st ride. Please donate here.
God Bless,
Paul
