I am riding this year for the first time and I will be riding as a team member on the Patriots Platelet Pedalers! Like most people, I have many reasons to ride. First off, I am a cancer survior myself. I was diagnosed with Leukemia when I was 3 years old and have been cancer free since I was 5. I have wanted to ride for several years along side my dad to give back to those who have ridden before me.
My friend Brandon McCarthy is also a survior of the same type of Leukemia I had. He is another reason I have always wanted to ride.
Almost 3 years ago my grandfather Richie past away from cancer. This gave me even more incentive to want to ride, but I still wasn't ready.
Then, last summer my cousin Arianna got diagnosed with Lymphoma. Instead of starting her senior year of high school, she started chemo at Dana Farber. This is when I realized it was time for me to do something. I knew right then that I would ride this year. Arianna has completed her chemo treatments and is doing well all thanks to the great treatment she got at Dana Farber, and this is due in large part to the funds donated by the PMC.
Now Brandon, Arianna and I are living proof! If you would like to donate to my ride, so there can be more success stories like ours, you can click on the donate to my ride link on my page to use a credit card. If you would like to write a check, make it out to PMC Jimmy Find, and mail it to me at:
