I’ll be riding the Pan-Mass Challenge again this year on August 6 & 7th to raise money for one of the top cancer centers in the world, the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
I’m kicking off my fundraising campaign this year on Father’s Day in memory of my Dad, Mike Sr. My decision to ride in my 1st PMC four years ago was just 2 short months after he lost his battle with lung cancer.
This year’s PMC ride will be my longest and most challenging yet covering 162mi over 2 days from Wellesley to Provincetown, MA.
Why do I ride? Why do I train? Why do I drive 1000mi roundtrip from Virginia to participate? Why have I committed to fundraise $6,000?
I do it for FAMILY.
I do it for my family.
I do it for your family.
I do it for all the families that have no one to fight for them.
All of our families have been or may be affected by cancer.
I make the choice to ride and to dedicate myself to prepare for PMC, but those fighting a cancer battle don’t get a choice. They need the support of family, of doctors, and the medicine and research that PMC’s fundraising supports, so if my small sacrifice can help 1 person or 100 it’s all worth it.
I hope you’ll choose to join me in my fundraising efforts to raise $6,000. Donations of all sizes are welcome and appreciated, and even the smallest of donations have a direct impact in this fight because 100% of every dollar I raise goes to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
In addition to your donation, there are some other ways you can also help:
- Select company match on the donation page, and take advantage of your company’s matching program
- Share my message with others in your friend group, family, or network (PMC Rider ID: MC0653)
- Volunteer – race weekend wouldn’t be possible without the many volunteers that come out to support the ride and riders
Thank you, in advance, for your kind and generous support in helping ame and this great cause!
Michael
