LET’S FIGHT BACK AND TAKE DOWN CANCER!!!
Please donate to help fund life saving research at Dana Farber Cancer Institute!
Your generosity could save someone you love!
I'm a proud supporter of the Pan Mass Challenge, because it is leading the charge to beat cancer. In fact, 100% of rider-raised revenue goes directly to support the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's (DFCI) tireless commitment to finding a cure.
My name is Jeanne Knudsen, and I am riding in the Pan Mass Challenge to honor my husband Paul, who has been bravely fighting Multiple Myeloma for the past 10 years. Both of us will be riding our off-road tandem bicycle on September 11, 2021, at Santos Trail in the Ocala National Forest, for a 50-mile challenge. We will be proudly wearing our team Patriots Platelet Pedalers, Pan Mass Challenge jerseys, raising money for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. 100% of the money raised goes to Multiple Myeloma research and development of new treatments. Dr. Anderson of DFCI has said that “These new treatments will benefit not only patients with myeloma, but also patients with cancers of the breast, lung, pancreas, and prostate.”
I am riding to raise much needed funding, so that Dana Farber and Dr. Anderson can do the cancer research to save lives, and impact others like they did for us. When my husband was diagnosed in 2011 with blood cancer, Multiple Myeloma, we had never heard of the disease. At that time, the life expectancy was three to five years, so this was devastating news, and the unknowns were frightening. We joined a support group, and attended seminars, and we met Dr. Anderson at one of them. He was so kind and compassionate, and he educated us about the treatment options, but most of all, he provided hope. Having a myeloma specialist leading your team of doctors, can improve your overall survival. I have been on this journey with Paul through tests, treatments, side effects, and infections, and it is not easy. Oddly enough, I have been diagnosed with smoldering Multiple Myeloma, ten years after Paul was diagnosed. Dr. Anderson is now OUR specialist. Paul is alive today because of Dr. Anderson, and we are both so grateful for him, and the amazing research done at Dana Farber that has changed our lives. Due to that research, myeloma patients are now living ten years and beyond.
I am riding in honor of my wonderful husband, who I have been so blessed to share my life with for almost 40 years. Together, we will ride in honor and memory of all those we love and have known, who have fought or are fighting the battle against cancer: Our daughter, my sister, my father, my nephew, my mother-in-law, my step-father-in-law, my grandfather, friends, and all members of our Boca Raton Multiple Myeloma Support Group, along with so many others who are fighting the fight.
Cancer touches all of us. The lifesaving research being done at Dana Farber is helping people survive a cancer diagnosis, due to the generosity of people like you. Small or large, every dollar you donate goes 100% to research and brings us one step closer to finding a cure.
I want you to know that your generosity provides hope!! Hope for a better future for all cancer patients. My heartfelt thanks to you for making a difference in the lives of so many people, through Dana Farber’s research.
