If you looked up fun, friendly, and outgoing in the dictionary, Tad and Gail Joniek’s names should appear in the definition. They have been our friends for nearly 40 years. However, six years ago, Tad was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, and was preparing to not make it to his next birthday. Instead, Tad just celebrated 5 years cancer-free… and yes, it was a great party!!!!
Tad is a patient of Dr. Ken Anderson’s practice, and a recipient of the wonderful therapies that Ken and his team have developed thanks to your donations. Last year our Pan Mass Challenge Patriot Platelet Peddler team (over 100 riders) raised $1M, including matching funds from the Kraft family (owners of the Patriots). Every cent goes to support Dr. Anderson’s research lab at the Dana Faber Cancer Center. They have achieved remarkable progress in extending survival, sometimes even curing this aggressive cancer. Their work has also improved treatment for many other types of cancers. Your support funds pilot studies and post-doctoral fellowships, so they can rapidly develop and test new treatments. And one of these saved Tad.
Please join us in supporting the Pan Mass Challenge and Dr. Anderson’s cancer research by making a tax- deductible donation. For a donation of $150 or more, you'll receive a Valentine's Day treat in February - a decorated banana cake customized to your taste - even gluten-free - shipped so it will arrive on Valentine's Day 2017. We can also send it to your favorite college student! Just take a look at the yellow cake coupon (click here), and let us know what type of cake you'd like and the address where you'd like us to ship it - put that information in a note to us with your on-line donation - or in an email to glenn.pransky@gmail.com
Thanks for your support - together we really do make a difference!
