I am again biking 200 hundred miles in two days for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Last year the PMC raised a record $63 million for cancer research. I have pledged to raise $6500 this year in memory of and in honor of the many people in my life affected by cancer. Cancer, once again, shook our family this past year with the death of my mother-in-law.
I ride in memory of:
Charlotte (Brenda’s cousin’s child) died of AT/RT brain cancer on December 8th, 2010, she was six years old. When Charlotte was first diagnosed there was barely any treatment for her disease. Through funds raised by Team Lick treatments have been created and have saved lives. 100% of funds I raise will be directed to AT/RT research.
Mario, the former president of the Fire Chiefs Association of Massachusetts, died of pancreatic cancer Nov. 7. 2017 He was 51.
Glen Jr, a military aviator, died as age 38 in 2016 of a fast-growing pancreatic cancer.
Madeleine (Brenda’s mom) suddenly started having significant memory issues in the early fall. After a few weeks of pushing doctors to look deeper it was discovered she had a non-operative fast-growing brain tumor. She died this past October at age 80. We miss you Nana.
I ride in honor of those who have survived; Kathy, Nicole, Bob, Tim.
As I train, I ride with the intention of health and longevity to all who are in the fight now.
Cancer sucks!! Please join me as a rider, volunteer to help the weekend of the ride and/or donatehttps://donate.pmc.org/GB0173
