I'm at it again, Pedaling for Penny – and I hope everyone who supported me the past 7 years will help me again ride in memory of my mom, Penny Randall.
I'm officially a PMC lifer! I completed my 7th PMC last year, and it proved to be yet another emotionally-inspiring and physically-demanding experience.
My mom, Penny Randall, passed 9 years ago now from Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Time has made the permanence of her physical absence even more real and difficult to manage. I miss her terribly, more every year that passes. Her wise words (I just tell it like it is) and unwavering confidence in and support of me. But, her passion for living has made it impossible for me to do anything other than smile every morning when I wake up, gifted with another day.
My mom was known for her selflessness and ability to be everyone’s rock. She was dynamic, warm, gave great hugs, and was a go-getter. The greatest honor and gift for me would be to be told that I am like my Mom – as I, and the world, saw her. A giver.
And, one of the steps I'd like to take again in memory of my mom is to give to cancer research. I'm a new and proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading a charge to beat cancer. Help me raise money for cancer research - as I join others, Pedaling for Penny.
Love,
Edin
