This will be my 23rd year riding the Pan Mass Challenge. Last year I rode with my youngest two sons Robbie and Tommy, and I am excited to be riding with again.  This will be Tommy’s 8th year. Robbie is off this year on his honeymoon.

This year the PMC is more important than ever given the cuts in NIH funding.  Support for cancer research remains imperative.  Our team has taken on funding three young investigators to try and compensate for lack of federal funds. Dan Ardeljan focusing on lymphoid cancers such as B-cell ALL, Benson George trying to better understand the genetics of acute leukemias and Evan Chen who is working on a technique for rapid diagnosis of blood cancers which will help facilitate earlier therapy.  These are all important projects, and the PMC supports many others! Philanthropy is still the number one way to continue supporting cancer research and new treatment options for our patients fighting leukemia and other bone marrow disorders.

I ride to make a difference, and you can too.

The PMC is the largest fund raiser that supports cancer research at the Dana-Farber. This year’s ride is August 2nd and 3rd, so I am praying for cool weather and a strong tailwind!

I ride with team “FLAMES” in support of the PMC and its charge to beat leukemia. In fact, 100% of my rider-raised revenue goes directly to support the Leukemia Division’s commitment to find a cure. The funds from the PMC remain the single most important support for leukemia clinical research. All funds will be directed to the Division of Leukemia at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
