This will be my 13th year riding the 2-day 180 mile Pan-Mass Challenge bike ride to raise money for the Boston Children's Hospital and Dana Farber Cancer Institute (100% of rider raised funds go directly to the DFCI). Olivia is our Peddle Partner again for Bike Team Elisha (named for the biblical prophet Elisha, known for his healing powers). So I continue to ride in the PMC to hear the tremendous stories of how people have survived and/or lived through their (or loved ones) battles with cancer. To learn how people cope with tragedy. To learn from other riders and volunteers about new cures, remedies, and treatments that are coming down the road. The stories are truly amazing. My goal this year is to raise 25,000 dollars for Dr. Gebhardt's Research Fund. Dr. Gebhardt is Olivia's orthopedic surgeon and is doing extensive research on Osteosarcoma, prosthetics, and limb-sparing surgery.
