Dana Farber Cancer Institute has always held a very special place in my heart. My journey with DFCI began as a youth volunteer ambassador in my early high school years until college and continued further by running the Falmouth Road Race on the DFCI fundraising team and participating in the Jimmy Fund Walk alongside team Sullivan Strong. Giving back to DFCI is truly an honor and having the opportunity to create relationships with some of the most resilient and courageous patients, fellow team members, and volunteers is the reason why I will never give up fighting the good fight against cancer. I am honored and beyond excited to continue this by riding in my first PMC this year. In one way or another, we have all been affected by cancer. While I have not personally battled, I have been alongside family and friends that have.
This year I will be riding in memory of our girlie: Jayne Sully. Jayne, aka mama #2, never backed down, never gave up, always threw the punches, and showed up to fight every single second of each day with a strong attitude and smile on her face. She is so incredibly missed by all who loved her (and that's a heck of a lot of people). I am honored to ride on the PPP team to aid in Dr. Ken Anderson's research and I will be riding with dignity and spirit with Jayne's hands on our backs. When the road gets tough, we get tougher. Thank you for your time and generosity, here's to the fight and another large step closer to a world free of cancer.
